On September 8, 2025, Justice Mew of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved the $21,050,000 million settlement for the class action lawsuit against Dr. Vincent Nadon, the University of Ottawa and the University of Ottawa Health Services. Its written reasons will follow and will be published on the class action website in www.drnadonclassaction.com.
The claims process is expected to begin on January 15, 2026 and will run for 180 days. Class Counsel urges any class members who have not yet identified themselves to do so now, to ensure that they receive direct email updates going forward.
Sean Brown, Lead Class Counsel, stated:
“The approval of this settlement is not just a legal milestone — it is a recognition of the strength and courage of those who came forward. For years, survivors carried the weight of these experiences in silence. This process has been about ensuring that their voices are heard, their dignity is restored, and that they are supported in moving forward. This result also represents accountability. It ensures that the institutions involved are held responsible and that survivors receive recognition of the profound impact this misconduct has had on their lives. My hope is that this settlement offers a foundation for healing and an important step toward justice for survivors.”
